In part, he’s currently fulfilling this mission as Chief Executive Officer of the The THRIVE Network (formerly known as Evelyn Douglin Center for Serving People In Need, Inc. - EDCSPIN). He and his staff of more than 500 men and women are dedicated to meeting the needs of more than 1,000 developmentally delayed individuals and their families.

In his first year as CEO, Charles spoke to his staff about the importance of teamwork, using the metaphor that they were all in the same boat. He emphasized how critical it is that “Everyone Paddles, at the Same Time, in the Same Direction, towards the Same Goal.”© Today, this concept continues to create a cooperative, results-oriented culture at THRIVE and has expanded into the Everybody Paddles Movement.

Charles A. Archer is an expert who brings his experience as a Chief Executive Officer of The THRIVE Network, Inc. to change initiatives in both the private and public sector. With over 20 years of leadership experience, he has created organizational shifts, implemented strategic programming and a results – oriented culture with a range of speaking topic. Charles A. Archer speaking topics include, but are not limited to, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities; Human, Civil and Equal Rights; Diversity and Inclusion; Organizational Development and Leadership; Corporate Governance Community Involvement; and Employee Engagement.

In business there are many clauses including what is known as a boilerplate clause that may include: decision-making, capital contribution, non-compete, dissolution, etc. How come no one use a friendship clause? This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.

Archer has, and why he thinks that "Everybody Matters". Founded in 1996, the THRIVE Network is a 501(c)(3) social services agency dedicated to meeting the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families who are in need of crucial services to enhance their lives. Every day we support more than 1,000 individuals and their families throughout Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan.  Every day at THRIVE, we support more than 1,200 individuals and their families with a workforce of more than 600 throughout New York City.
